The Danger of Religious Zeal In Light of The Mercy of Our Savior

In this passage the impetuous zeal of the disciples is on display as James and John ask Jesus if He wants them to call down fire from heaven upon a Samaritan village that had refused to let Jesus come and travel through there. In response to that, Jesus rebukes them and warns them of the spirit in which they would make such a request.  In this sermon, Brother Tracey looks at the great contrast between the misguided zeal of the disciples and the gentle mercy of Jesus, and the lessons that we all need to learn from it.
