Jonah’s Heart Discovered

In today’s passage we take a deeper look at the rebellious prophet on the run to Tarshish. We are brought back unto the scene of the ever-increasing storm aboard the ship predestined to bring about God’s sovereign will. Jonah sought anonymity as he sinned his way out of obedience to God; however, his sin is discovered and confessed as the cause of the tempestuous storm. Soon after Jonah’s sin is discovered he reveals the remedy that will bring peace upon the sea. In today’s sermon, brother TJ reminds us that our sin causes separation with God and harm to others, and exhorts believers to confess their sin quickly and turn back to God when disobedience and defiance has been the mark of a faithless walk. When sin is exposed and dealt with properly, peace with God and true worship will result.
