The Corinthian believers had disagreements with each other to the point that the were suing each other in the public courts. To address this situation, the apostle Paul admonishes them for handling these cases against fellow believers wrongly and instructs them in how they should have handed them. In these corrections and instructions we can see no less that two important principles that believers need to apply whenever they may experience a disagreement with other believers that they cannot come to a reconciliation over on their own.
